• A History of Blood – Vol. 2, Chapter 9

This chapter is an update on my career earnings so far. My career started in sales back in 2014, shifted into Insurance in 2018, and then in 2023 I became a veteran, marking the turning point of my career.

I became a Priest in 2025, and since then, I’ve tried to work less as to focus more on my studies, but I’ve frequently found myself working full-time for the sake of my living expenses.

Reviewing my career earnings annually allows me to make more educated decisions on what I plan to do moving forward, and I have a surprising amount of options now that I think about it.

After moving to a new city and endeavoring to use my God-given name for all intents and purposes, I decided to continue my career as an Insurance Agent, continue my work as a Priest, and aspire to become a Politician rather than directly continue my military career.

What do you call Black Mormonism?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Haiti refers to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) and its members in Haiti.

My family (the Pean family) came to the United States of America from Haiti sometime in 1977.

On September 30, 1978, at the 148th Semiannual General Conference, the LDS Church released a statement that would become known as Official Declaration #2, based on a letter sent earlier that same year, which read as follows:

The first chapter of this story was about the 9th of Av, a Jewish Holiday that communally, mourns the destruction of the First and Second Temples, highlighting Babylonian Exile, the Jewish Diaspora, and the end result of the First Jewish-Roman War. Considering the Hebrew Bible, and by extension, the Holy Bible, both revolve around the First and Second Temple periods respectively, it’s surprising the 9th of Av isn’t a more widely acknowledged holiday. I’ll chalk it up to ignorance or illiteracy.

Rosh Hashana, however, is a much more widely known, albeit misunderstood holiday. It’s essentially just “Jewish New Years”, and while I wouldn’t call it a “happy” holiday, It is one of my favorite holidays for the way it spiritually renews me.

The first official business owner that I’ve sponsored into my insurance business.

Last week, I sponsored a man named Mark Carter into my insurance business. We met while we were both working at a company called Just Energy, while we were both working in the Management Consulting industry.

Mark had something that I didn’t have: he had professional connections and a team of blades at his disposal: smart, well-dressed, and sophisticated young professionals who knew how to grind and why, while having the emotional intelligence to make friends instead of enemies. It was a sight to behold.

We had comparable sales skills, which is saying a lot due to how talented I am, but Mark actually had one critical skill combined with a variable that allowed him to get promoted significantly faster than I could: he was a great recruiter with a great reputation.

Shifting the focus from employees into entrepreneurs

Early in my career as an insurance agent, I studied both the activity and instruction of other insurance agents, while also looking into their public relations, and comparing that to the corporate guidelines of the various companies I worked with over the course of my career.

Eventually, I realized that the blueprint provided by my Field Marketing Organization (FMO) was flawless, and that my lack of success was due to my failure to adhere to the blueprint, rather than there being flaws in the blueprint itself, so I endeavored to “try again”, this time approaching my business like a professional with an expectation of results.

The Blueprint forms a very basic business plan, which can be summarized as follows:

  • Nobody knows my name

This time last week I was blacked out which is a crazy thing to say because all it means is: to turn off all electronics. I’m making a small exception for the screens of my phone because I have a lot of writing to do and I want to get a few things done before the next week begins.
