I have no idea how she actually died. The last time I saw her alive and well was August 7, 2025 at the place we both worked — both of us were licensed insurance agents working in the state of Maryland.
She texted me on August 8, 2025, I wasn’t in the office that day, so it was nice to hear from her. I had seen her the day before, she seemed to be in pretty high spirits, and was still in great shape.
I can’t help but think about the difference between the way she looked on August 7, 2025 — and the way she looked on August 24, 2025, when I visited her for the first time in the hospital. She had been kept alive by a machine, unable to do anything. Apparently. she could hear, but I didn’t have anything to say. I just wrote her name in my Bible and kept it moving.
She was the first person whose name I wrote into my Bible.
The second name was Sarah Rachel Feinman.
I wrote Sarah’s name into my Bible on August 29, 2025
Sarah Rachel Feinman, age 22, of Upper Providence Township, Media, Pennsylvania, died Monday, April 13, 2020, at her residence.
Born February 5, 1998, in Levittown, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Alan and Stephanie (Paxson) Feinman, of York. She was employed as a Veterinary Technician, and she was a member of Temple Beth Israel when she lived in York.
I met her on April 25, 2015 when I worked at Walmart 1529, in York, Pennsylvania, while I was trying to find a way to return to college. I attended the Art Institute of York — Pennsylvania from October 2010 until June 2012. I worked at Walmart 1529 from September 2014 until September 2015.
When we both lived in York, we saw each other quite often. We would visit each other to eat, she would come over my place to play video games, and we were the subject of each other’s art.
The highlights our relationship were the many works of art we made together. I was a painter and she was a poet; she would write poems and short stories about me, and love letters to me, while I would paint portraits of her and for her, with the last portrait being painted on her 18th birthday.

In addition to her parents, Sarah is survived by two brothers, Matthew and Paxson Feinman, of York; paternal grandparents, Stephen Feinman, of Dexter, Michigan, and Rochelle (Halpern) Feinman, of Oaks, Pennsylvania; an aunt, Patti Kaufman; and two uncles, Aaron Feinman, and Albert Paxson.
A private service was held shortly after her death, with Rabbi Jeffrey Astrachan officiating.
She was buried in South Hill Hebrew Cemetery,
